The guest rooms are divided into superior and standard depending on the location of the room. Superior rooms are located towards the front of the hotel and overlook the Pantheon and Piazza della Rotonda whilst the Standard rooms are located to the interior of the hotel. There is NO difference in the size of the room or amenities offered by either standard or superior rooms. Nevertheless please bear in mind that due to the antiquity of the building (600 years old) the Albergo del Sole al Pantheon is the oldest hotel in Rome and consequently no two guest rooms are alike!
All rooms are individually decorated and contain either king size beds or twin single beds. In addition there are also 3 junior suites (Ariosto, Mascagni, Federico II ) named after the famous people who stayed here and all affording superb views of the Pantheon. There are also 6 family suites located in the hotel's annexe an adjacent building 10 metres from the hotel. All of the suites are extremely spacious, sleeping 3-4 persons and therefore ideal accommodation for families visiting Rome. Four of the six suites have a frontal view of the Piazza della Rotonda and the Pantheon itself. Shortly we plan to launch our own Albergo del Sole al Pantheon webcam with a live view directly onto Piazza della Rotonda, surely one of the most charismatic piazzas in Rome…
As a consequence of the hotel’s antiquity the ceilings are extremely high and the walls very thick, we guarantee you that you won’t hear a sound from the other rooms ensuring a completely undisturbed good night’s sleep. The antique furniture varies from room to room although worth mentioning are the Peperino dark green stone desks and the rooms towards the front of the hotel which contain balconies which open out onto the Piazza della Rotonda and the Pantheon.
All the guest rooms are equipped with Jacuzzi spa whirlpool bath, hairdryer, satellite TV, mini bar, air conditioning, safety deposit box, complimentary accessories and direct dial telephone. Our rooms overlooking the square contain breathtaking views of the Pantheon and the famous fountain in Piazza della Rotunda.
The Ariosto, named after the famous poet (famous works include “Orlando Furioso”) who stayed here in April 1513 has room for 4 guests and includes original antique furniture and bed with original wooden headboard.
The Mascagni suite is named after the composer who slept here the night his famous opera, La Cavalliera Rusticana, was premiered in the nearby Barberini Theatre. The ceiling is decorated with original frescoes. See the virtual tour for a 360 image.
The Federico III is named after the German Emperor who stayed here in 1452. The Federico III suite contains either 2 twin beds or 1 king size bed plus sofa bed for a third person.
